WHAT UTOPIANS DO

The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?

Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.


THE ROLE

We are growing fast and moving into new territories. Berlin and Amsterdam will be two out of our four tech hubs beside Barcelona and Lisbon. As the People & Culture Operations Specialist you are supporting this growth with P&C expertise along the whole employee lifecycle. You ensure a great employee experience; provide high quality first-line support to employees and managers, as well as undertaking administrative activities and managing our systems. You are involved in onboarding, payroll, employment changes, offboarding and much more. We are scaling up, so you can leave your footprint and actively create the work environment!

Preferably you are based out of Germany, Berlin or Amsterdam, Netherlands. Most importantly you will need to have market experience in Germany & Netherlands.

TEAM BELONGING

The P&C Operations Specialist belongs to the global People & Culture team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • P&C Operations; including setting up routines (often from scratch) for respective employee processes
  • Providing and keeping up to date employee data for payroll providers
  • Partnering with the broader P&C team to solve local employee related queries like vacation, contracts, changes, benefits etc.
  • Driving tasks related to global mobility and immigration / visa processing
  • Setting up guidelines for smooth operations in the countries together with other P&C members
  • Supporting local and global projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • Further HR related education
  • 4+ years of experience in a P&C Operations role, any additional know-how like for e.g. Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development is an advantage
  • Local employment law experience
  • Experience within Start-Ups/Scale-Ups and tech is an advantage
  • You have a positive mindset, "can-do" attitude and you live “speed over perfection”
  • You are an absolute team player, we call it “We over me”!
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to structure your work also in a hectic and changing environment and able to set priorities
  • Fast learner and at ease with new technologies and ways of working (HRIS, ATS, GoogleSuite, Miro etc.)
  • Full proficiency in German and English is a must, Dutch an advantage. Additional languages are a plus!
