We now have the opportunity to look for a Senior Manager of Sales Development to join our awesome and growing team. We're on a mission to scale our operations and maximize value to our existing and future customers.


Who are we looking for?

As our new Senior Manager of Sales Development you will ensure high performance  of your team of Sales Development Representatives (SDR), leading them to achieving their monthly target.

The position is full-time and you will report to the VP of Commercial Operations, Mads.


What would be your responsibilities?

We foresee the following responsibilities, but you’ll have the opportunity and freedom to influence and define it with us:

  • Selecting leads together with Sales Operations based on ICPs and data.

  • Run the approved prospecting playbook and improve messaging, sequences and processes.

  • Hiring and on the job-training of SDRs.

  • Ensure adherence to Prospecting Playbook and adjust if necessary.

  • Had experience working as BDR /SDR manager in a SaaS-company.

  • Like to lead by example - you’re willing to book your own meetings to show how it’s done and get feedback on your pitch and processes.

  • Have a growth mindset by heart and continuously seek improvement of processes within the team.

  • Coach and grow your team members to achieve their targets and to be successful. 

  • Like connecting with people and to talk with prospects to start new exciting opportunities and to improve the sales process and messaging.

  • Continuously improve the prospecting process by testing new things in alignment with Sales Excellence.

  • Love to crunch numbers and analyze data, so you know where to focus and execute on it.

  • High sense of urgency in all matters. 

 

How will this role progress?

It is important to us to be as transparent as even possible and to give you the opportunity to level expectations for the role. We therefore share our impact description in advance, and we would love your thoughts about it in your cover letter.


During the 1st month you will:

  • Meet your new colleagues and understand who is doing what.

  • Get comfortable with the day-to-day operations of the team.

  • Understand the problems Penneo solves for customers.

  • Use the products as a customer.

  • Participate in Penneo’s onboarding program for all new Penneos.

  • Assess and engage in daily work in the sales team to understand what prospects and customers say.

  • Read "Predictable Revenue".

Within 3 months you will:

  • Present your first draft of the prospecting playbook, that you have co-created with the Sales Excellence Manager.

  • Launch and onboard the team to your prospecting playbook.

  • Ensure that the team is hitting their activity targets.

  • Run the daily operations of the team.

  • Read "From Impossible to Inevitable".

Within 6 months you will:

  • Ensure that your team is hitting the monthly target.

  • Promote the first SDR because of good results based on your coaching and training.

  • Be sure that the sales team have closed the first opportunity from the SDR-team.

  • Implement a small change to your first playbook.

Within 12 months:

  • The team’s performance is steadily improving and you have built a repeatable outbound prospecting machine that delivers high ROI.

About our interview process

We want you to know what to expect. All of our interviews can be conducted remotely, scheduled via email and Google Meet for audio/video calls, if you prefer.

  1. Call with our Talent Acquisition Lead, Teresa (~30m): introduction to the company, mutual initial expectation leveling.

  2. Call with the VP of Commercial Operations, Mads (~45m): Getting to know each other, assessing for mutual fit, introduction to the impact and goals for the position.

  3. Collaboration round (~1h): Together with the two members  you will discuss your approach to a problem scenario to assess collaboration fit and ways of working.

  4. The practicalities (~45m): Closing talks VP of Commercial Operations, Mads agreeing about compensation, starting date, and all other practical details.
