Role overview

We are hiring a Head of Operations for our rapidly growing market in Norway, who together with our national Head of Sales will lead Airmee´s continued establishment and development. This role is challenging and appeals to you who enjoys both hands responsibilities, whilst being strategic and commercially driven.

From managing the supply side with carriers, establishing and innovating sorting facilities, to driving efficiency in the last-mile and launching new strategic bets, you will develop and lead the full range of levers to measure and improve our logistics operations. In this role you will have a direct impact on Airmee’s ability to continuously provide the best delivery experience in the world.

This role calls for a combination of operational mindset, analytics skills, and the interpersonal abilities to manage teams such as dispatch, sorting, and partner relationships. It's a highly data-driven role. You will also assist the head of sales in commercial partnerships, together you will team up to offer the best solutions tailored to our customers needs.

This is an intense and critical role that will lead a central part of Airmee’s business: our logistics operations. As the Head of Operations, you will create and build upon operational plans, drive a mindset and culture of continuous improvement. As every second counts in our business, a sense of urgency needs to be at the core of your mindset.

Airmee encourages a flexible remote working environment, however, this role will require your presence both at our Office and at the Terminal located in the suburbs of Oslo.

So, what will you do?

  • Establish a strong local presence and develop partnerships with logistics and distribution actors. Your commercial drive and knowledge of the Norwegian market will thus be a critical factor of success.
  • Cross collaborate with Airmee’s centralized Operations Teams in Sweden. You will lay the foundation for our operational side by creating the right setting for an effective and continued expansion.
  • Manage and develop our terminal operations, implement and drive metrics for every aspect of our operations (linehaul, sorting, loading, delivery, etc.)
  • Develop and implement new processes and routines as well as implement new systems and automation, learning from best practices, to constantly improve our operations, cut lead-times and provide a better experience for our e-commerce customers and end-consumers.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between different stakeholders (tech, sales, customer support, etc.) and lead resolution of any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity.
  • Work closely with our head of sales for Norway in order to accelerate our growth and establish a strong presence unmatched by no other.

What we’re looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience in a top tier consulting, strategy, operational and/or tech start up. Experience from logistics is essential.
  • Bachelors degree in science/engineering, economics, finance, management, or demonstrated experience from logistics.
  • Experience and strong track record from start-ups within logistics (ride-sharing, food delivery, last-mile delivery, etc.) is a plus.
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through deep analytical thinking
  • A high tolerance for calculated risk, constant change and a tremendous drive to achieve and inspire
  • Disciplined organizational skills - you'll need to prioritize and manage tens of ongoing processes and projects simultaneously
  • Able to balance the role of a strategist with urgency, while simultaneously delivering results in a growing and very fast-paced environment.
  • Get stuff done attitude: you are not afraid of rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English
