What we need from you

We want someone who will be on this journey with us from the start, as bumpy as the road may be at first. We are looking for a middle to senior UI Designer not only to beautify our product, but to take the visual design system which has UI components, patterns and micro animations to the next level. We need you to care about our visual, system and brand design, because we don't just want our products to be functional, we want them to be beautiful and easy to use as well. We want to create teams of independent individuals who can figure out the details from the big picture, manage technical debt and align with their colleagues without close supervision.

What you bring to the table...

• Good expertise in visual, system and brand design with a good eye for fantastic design

• Experience working on products/services across multiple platforms and/or markets

• User-centered focus with a strong understanding of designing platforms

• Designed and shipped complex web and mobile applications

• Consideration for long-term sustainability in all design decisions, with a focus on engineering feasibility and business impact

• Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

• Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with researchers, analysts, journalists, developers for the implementation of designs

• Knowledge in best practices for information architecture, design, data visualization, storytelling

• Demonstrated history of making data accessible, understandable and entertaining

• Experience with collaborative design tools (Figma, graphic editors (sketch), prototyping tools (Principle) as well as Adobe Suite.

• (would be nice but really not a problem if you don't have) Experience with JavaScript and Data Viz tools (e.g. D3.js, tableau, ...)

Company information

polypoly was founded around the idea that personal online data, globally, is out of the users control. We don’t know who has our data, what they have, and with whom they share it, nor for what purpose it is used, or for how long it is stored. We founded polypoly as a countermeasure to this; to build a solution that will return control of our data back to us. We will decide who can use our data and for which purposes. We will define the rules.

The Product - polyPod

You are asked when someone wants to know something about you. This sums up what the polyPod does for you. With polyPod you always control who knows what about you, who is allowed to know what about you, and what no one should know about you. With the polyPod, you control a private server that stores your data. You can choose to grant access to your polyPod. Friends, companies, whoever you want. Who can access your polyPod, and for how long, is totally up to you.
