Weld is looking for a Lead DevOps engineer to build out our Developer Operations. We’re working on AWS with ECS, EC2, RDS, Batch, S3 and many other services, running Docker containers, with the infrastructure orchestrated through Terraform, and we need you to lead it! We’re looking for someone with strong opinions on how to effectively run devops for 20+ engineers - someone who has a passion for automation, orchestration, uptime, stability and deployments, and who would love to make Weld the best at all of these. 

There’ll be an opportunity to have direct reports over time - but it is not a requirement for the role, though we will ask you to help us hire your coming DevOps colleagues.

You’ll join a company that’s grown from 3 to 30 people over the last 9 months, and you thrive in an ever changing environment, and you love the challenge of building a scalable devops infrastructure for an engineering department that will double in size by the end of the year.

The nitty-gritty skills needed;

• Experience with Terraform

• Familiar with AWS - ECS, EC2, RDS, IAM Best practices, CloudWatch

• DevOps best practices - Geo-replicated environments, effective deployments, disaster recovery, network security

• Experience with Docker

• Can own teaching practices to the dev team

• Can-do attitude and team player

• Think about monitoring and alarms as much as stability

• Have a keen eye on costs

• Proven experience leading other devops engineers
