Joining a growing product team means working on all “fidelity levels”. This position is best suited for a confident and seasoned designer who wants to contribute in scaling a company, take ownership and see the impact of design decisions immediately.

You will be able to organise your work and own projects from the UX perspective. Your tasks will range from research and co-creating concepts to hands-on UX/UI design – defining user flows, prototyping, testing and improving UI. 

Together with the Head of the Design, Senior UX/UI designer and engineering team of 7 you will also plan for scale – setup UI templates, define UX guidelines and contribute to shared libraries. Selma’s German-speaking experts will help you connect with our contributors and clients, and figure out the market needs. 

Your skills & experience

UX & UI design

• UI craftsmanship: professional graphic design and storytelling skills 

• Courage to untangle abstract challenges and ask questions

• Solid understanding of interaction and UX design principles, i.e usability heuristics

• Mastery with UX/UI design tools. Our product team uses Miro and Figma.

• Ability to select optimal research, facilitation, co-design and testing tools and methods

• Experience of building and maintaining consistency via shared design libraries

• Comfortable with platform guidelines and accessibility standards (web, iOS, Android)

• Basic familiarity of modern frameworks, e.g. components, states and props. The engineering team uses React, Redux, React Native, TypeScript and SCSS to name a few.

Design ownership

• Competence to prioritise and split ideas into scenarios, flows and user stories

• Calm endeavour that helps you to shepherd design from strategy to validation

• Experience of working in an Agile team with continuous release cadence

Design thinking

• Know-how to communicate design logic and decisions to different stakeholders

• Ability to co-create implementable digital service concepts, from UX perspective, that balance between client needs, business opportunities and technical requirements

   We’ll pick a real-life task and try solving it together with an engineering team. From you, this will take around 2-3 hours in preparations and a follow-up interview with the CTO. We’ll set a suitable, relaxed schedule together. :)

4. A final talk

   Let's bring our CEO to the table and have the final talk about you starting at Selma.
