What is Station?

Station is the world’s first student-driven innovation house, founded by students to leverage innovation in the wider student community, and it is operated by students. We are on a mission to make stuff happen by putting our knowledge into action. Currently our community represents more than 400 students from 8 universities and educational institutions.

Station is not only an idea and a movement, but also a physical space that enables students and other actors to meet and inspire each other to change the world.

In December 2017 we proudly signed the contract of acquiring the Old Police Station at Frederiksberg. Since then, the approximately 3700 m2 old brick building has been transformed into a visionary powerhouse for student innovation that opened in October 2020.

The space is an inclusive platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and an enabling playground that encourages curiosity, diversity, and entrepreneurial minds. Station offers state-of-the-art facilities for collaborative workshops, engaging meetings, immersive work, and much more.

You are welcome to come by to meet us and see the facilities before applying!

Roles at the bottom of the page! We are an interdisciplinary community of students and recent graduates, who: 1. create the most thriving crossdisciplinary student community 2. empower students through hands-on programmes and projects about sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship, and 3. engage in collaborations with the private, public and civic sector. Station is a non-profit volunteer foundation dedicated to youth communities, well-being promotion, and empowering students. Our mission is to create meaningful and inclusive communities that allow students from across the country's higher education institutions to transform their engagement, curiosity, and ideas into positive change for themselves and the world. We are located in the former Frederiksberg police station at Howitzvej 30, which, following extensive renovation funded by support raised by students themselves, now serves as a modern hub for activities and innovation for students and graduates. Station is a meeting point for young people, students, and graduates who wish to participate in new and meaningful value-driven communities, challenge themselves in their fields, and be inspired by new mindsets and perspectives. Each year, we welcome over 50,000 visitors to our house, representing a diverse range of students and graduates with varying expertise, nationalities, and cultures. We serve as the nexus for approximately 250 regular members, 24 student organizations, and 100 volunteers annually, who engage through our ongoing volunteer initiatives, learning programs, and over 60 yearly activities. Station is operated by a professional secretariat that carries out tasks related to e.g. community building, project management, event management, communications, fundraising, business development, partnerships, and more. By collaborating closely with volunteers and student initiatives, we work to ensure transparency and cross-collaboration within our community and organisation, where our members, volunteers and visitors are the heart of our organisation and at the forefront of our movement.
