What's Off Script?

We created Off Script to democratize e-commerce and make it more fun! Off Script is a social commerce platform that enables creators to run and operate their e-commerce from their phones. We're on a mission to reinvent e-commerce by putting people in the center. We are recognized by WIRED as one of the most exciting startups in Europe, and now we want you to join us.

Our goal is to make Off Script the best way for creators to run their e-commerce. To do that, we have built an e-commerce platform that enables you to set up your shop from your phone in minutes.

On one hand, we connect to e-commerce platforms to pull inventory, product data and connect to brands. On the other hand, we enable creators to run their shop. No inventory, no logistics, no admin. We have 200+ brands signed up, and 15000+ sellable SKUs.

Off Script is funded by VC and Angel Investors and we are going to go big this year to scale our operations. That's where you come in.

What you'll do

We're looking to hire an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to act as a Tech Lead. We look for someone with a passion for building and scaling high-quality web applications. Your work will make a difference to our business, and you will play an integral role in how our product and company evolve.

Here are a few things we expect from you:

• Develop, test and deploy your code

• Learn the business domain, participate in the requirements gathering process

• Troubleshoot production issues, provide resolutions and recommendations for improvement

• Engage in the full product lifecycle as part of a cross-functional team. Gain a deep understanding of the problems we need to solve and apply that knowledge to building solutions.

• Take initiative and ownership of projects from design to implementation to deployment.

  
  

Who we're looking for

We want a person that can wear many hats. One day you'll be building a new feature for brands. On a different day, you might be improving our web UI or optimizing our infrastructure. Every day is different and it's a constant learning process. This means that we are constantly doing things we never have done before. You don't need to be afraid of trying new things and messing things up.

We are also looking for someone that can take ownership of your process from start to end. You are not afraid to give and receive feedback. You can bring new ideas to the table. We try to keep a lean structure on how we do things where everyone is responsible for their work.

Being a lead position you're expected to also mentor and support the rest of the team, while being the main owner of the implementation pipeline.

What's the stack?

• We use Typescript in all our codebases.

• Our whole infrastructure is all on cloud services based on AWS and Vercel.

• Our "back-end" is a GraphQL API (built with Hasura) connected to Serverless and a few Dockerized applications built on Node.js. We're also experimenting with Deno.

• On the web, we are running things with NextJS and TailwindCSS.

If you don't know or have experience with a few stuff on the list, not a problem, you can learn on the job. You can still be considered if you have 50% of the requirements.
