Position Summary
We are seeking a data scientist who, in collaboration with the bioinformatics group and lead scientists, will use their knowledge of statistics, data processing, and coding best practices to implement robust data analysis pipelines to support Bio-Me’s scientific and commercial endeavors. This is a highly autonomous position; we are seeking someone who is proactive and self-driven. Previous experience in life sciences is not a hard requirement. The position reports directly to the CIO.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working with cross-functional teams to standardize, automate and expand Bio-Me’s data science capabilities
Develop routine data analysis pipelines and workflows
Extracting value from microbiome and medical data with statistical methods
Exploring data for developing predictive models/indexes
Supporting operational data entering and retrieving efforts
Contributing experience and creativity to our scientific community and endeavors
Possibility to be involved in reporting and communicating analysis to customers and stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
Requirements:
Proficient in the Python data science ecosystem including:
Data wrangling (pandas, numpy)
Data analysis (scikit-learn, scipy)
Visualization tools (matplotlib, seaborn, plotly, etc.)
Experience with relational database SQL (MySQL or MariaDB)
Familiar with Python testing frameworks (unit tests and feature tests)
Experience with Git for version control
Nice to have:
Familiar with bioinformatics packages (Scikit-Bio, Biopython, etc.)
Experience using AWS or Azure cloud
Experience dealing with medical data
Expert in using Unix
Experience with AI/ML
Experience working with Agile values (Scrum)
