NL Acoustics is a global award-winning growth company where you can easily move your career forward, develop your expertise in your desired direction, and turn your ideas into real products. We design and manufacture unique, easy-to-use, comprehensive acoustic solutions for predictive maintenance. Our solutions use sound to locate faulty machines and components in power grids and compressed air systems, solving our clients’ problems in over 40 countries.
We are now seeking a Senior Research Engineer to reinforce our enthusiastic, welcoming team and to support our fast growth. Our multidisciplinary professionals share a passion for working with the latest sound-based technologies, challenging themselves, and growing their know-how. As a company, we are driven by our shared goal to turn sound into value.
We are looking for a Senior Research Engineer to help us develop our cutting-edge algorithms in acoustics to the next level. You will join our team of over 20 people in Helsinki, Finland.
You will be working in product development, developing advanced features and algorithms for our next generation market-leading acoustic products.
In your day-to-day tasks, you will mostly work with Python and C++, with a strong focus on short development cycles, quick validation of assumptions, and iterative improvements. Once in a while, you’ll tinker around with our audio measurement and test setups. You’ll come up with various ideas and assumptions on how to process the audio data our products gather, or how to computationally simulate situations that allow us to validate certain assumptions. You are the person who knows how to transform the data we gather into something as valuable as possible for our customers. The result of your work will help our customers solve real problems such as reducing wasted energy in factories and improving the reliability of electricity transmission.
Depending on your background and interests, your tasks might also include working together with our customers. In these cases, you’ll be able to explain the things we are working on in such a way that someone with no background in acoustics can understand them.
