Januar ApS is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee activities across functions such as customer success, daily operations, and regulatory compliance.


The role

The role is positioned at the center of Januar, and you will play a key role in achieving the company’s goals for 2021 and beyond. 

Responsibilities include designing and optimizing policies, overseeing customer service, ensuring smooth-running daily operations, and selecting and implementing technology that will support and optimise our processes.

You should therefore be ready to take on great responsibility, but also collaborate proactively with colleagues across the team. 

You will need to quickly get a broad understanding of our business and then use your analytical and strategic mindset to design and implement policies and processes. Being committed to productivity and compliance is key!


Your responsibilities

  • Design policies that align with our overall strategy

  • Implement efficient processes and standards

  • Coordinate customer service operations

  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws (e.g. regulatory compliance and data protection)

  • Oversee implementation of technology solutions throughout the organization

  • Manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders

  • Evaluate risk and lead our quality assurance effort

  • Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement

  • Report on operational performance and suggest improvements

The main goals for the first few months will be running the daily operations based on our existing Operations Manual. Most of our customer processes have already been documented in the first version of our Operations Manual. You are expected to follow this manual - and potentially contribute to the development of it - when performing tasks such as: Customer Onboarding and Due Diligence, sanctions lists screening, client document management, deposit and withdrawal registration etc.


Qualifications required

  • Fluent in Danish and English

  • Proven experience from a similar role

  • Experience with implementing IT systems

  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills

  • Problem-solving aptitude

  • Analytical mind

 

We expect you to have a keen interest in finance and cryptocurrency, but no pre-knowledge is required.

It is a requirement that you have a valid Danish work permit and live in Denmark (or are willing to move).


Growth opportunities

The role will initially be very hands-on with day-to-day operational tasks, but there is an opportunity to grow into more of a leadership role as Januar evolves. Within 6-12 months, we expect the Operations team to have grown to 3-5 people.


Starting date

We evaluate incoming applications and hold interviews on a regular basis, so don’t hesitate to apply. The earliest start date will be June 1, 2021.


What is Januar? 

In short, our goal is to bridge bitcoin and banking. Currently, we are in the early stages of building a Bitcoin product for financial institutions in Denmark. 

Further down the road, we aim to enable access to bank accounts for cryptocurrency businesses, building the gate between crypto and fiat money.

We base our business on trust and transparency, as well as solid expertise and experience in finance and crypto. We’re not all crypto experts, but we expect you to be curious and willing to both share your knowledge and learn from your colleagues.
