Rodinia Generation specializes in ultra-fast automated print-and-cut garment production.
We are looking for a design savvy and experienced frontend developer to work on our operations platform and customer facing website. At Rodinia Generation, you will build critical software in a company with a critical mission.
Your responsibilities
Develop modern UI for our operations platform and customer facing platform.
Work together with other engineers to develop APIs.
Mentor junior developers and help grow the development team.
Be the thought leader of your domain in the company.
Working at Rodinia
We are a small company that will grow. You should want to advance your responsibilities over time and take on leadership.
You will initially be working with a junior developer and a senior data scientist. However, we are currently also hiring for backend and automation engineering positions.
We are pragmatists. Our combined efforts go into building a strong operation. The stakeholders for the products you develop are next to you, in the office.
We accept mistakes and reward innovation.
Technical notes
You will be writing many "first lines" of code, so we do not demand you use any specific frontend framework. However, preference for popular technologies that are easier to hire other developers into is a big plus.
The core function of the operations platform is to let a human operator plan and submit jobs to a manufactoring facility. The interaction between remote and local operators needs to be accommodated in the design. Extra features that improve operations will need to be implemented ad-hoc.
Clothing production in the fashion industry accounts for nearly 8% of global CO2 emissions. More than 35% of all garments are produced in China and around one third are discarded before they even reach a warehouse. The current industry causes unmeasurable human and environmental damage.
Our goal at Rodinia Generation is to change the industry of clothing production. We specialize in ultra-fast print-and-cut garment production. Our mission is to make local and sustainable production the cheapest and most reliable manufacturing option for mid-to-high-end fashion brands. Our manufacturing process uses no water, produces no chemical waste and beats all current manufacturing alternatives on speed and environmental footprint. We are building the worlds first competitive alternative to the industrial status-quo of the fashion industry.
