Is a growth focused, hands-on role, which through marketing focuses on driving ticket sales, online sales and user acquisition, with filling arenas for our live-events around the world and buying and optimising media campaigns key focus areas.  You will work under the Head of Marketing’s leadership in ticket sales, driving viewership, growing merchandise sales and platform user growth for one of the leading companies in a one of a kind industry.

We’re looking for a hungry marketer with experience in the events industry and hands on experience within media planning and buying - experience with ticketing is a very big plus. You’ll work well with the rest of the team in Social Media, Marketing, PR and CRM to drive growth and hit the KPIs of our events and platforms.

You should be able to take a campaign brief and strategy and able to translate that into an action plan to deliver against.. You'll be creating briefs, running campaigns and optimising as you go. You will be engaged in the creative process, writing killer briefs for marketing content and always want to be pushing the boundaries of what's possible. We are looking for someone with a hacking mindset, a person who will apache a situation and get the most out of the budget given.

You will be measured on core KPIs based around ticket sales and digital growth associated with the role and by how you're collaborating and driving forward the rest of the business. You must be able to work on delivering campaigns yourself whilst naturally fit into a growing marketing unit looking to keep making euphoric moments on a global stage with multiple things happening at once.

Being an expert in the esports world is not a requirement. What's important is the skills you bring and the willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities

The Marketing Manager will support the Head of Marketing in delivering the strategy and campaign plans across the following areas:

  • Ticketing: Sales for our events across BLAST Premier and other IP

    • Working with the Head of Marketing to market our live events and sell them out.

    • This includes, but is not limited to, working with ticketing system providers, running paid media, running local market campaigns, partnerships (e.g. local Universities, sponsors and the like) and general tactical marketing and project management.

    • Collaboration with Event Operations Team on ticketing fulfillment and fan management on site.

    • You will work with the Head of Marketing on the overall campaign strategies and pricing.

  • Digital platforms

    • Support on email marketing and marketing automation. Setting up newsletters and similar.

    • Support growing our digital platforms through tactical marketing and paid advertising.

  • Overall audience growth for our live and VOD content 

    • Planning, running and optimising digital advertising, growing our audience for broadcasts and social content

    • Through using data, continually looking for new and better ways to drive more audience into our products including new platforms and evolved creative

  • Effectiveness & Data 

    • Work closely with the Marketing and Digital team to analyze and utilize user data in all campaign work.

  • Merchandise 

    • Work against brief from the merchandising team to drive visits and sales of merchandise in the shop via paid and organic digital activation

Daily tasks in this role will focus on but not limited to:

  • Ticket marketing 

    • Setting up ticket sales with Operations Team and Ticketing partners/systems

    • Running all ticket marketing activities in all markets, including paid advertising, partnerships and local marketing activations to help push sales

    • Potential travel activity is expected

  • Media planning and buying 

    • Planning of advertising spend - mainly digital

    • Run and optimize campaigns across all digital self-serve platforms and book all other media where appropriate

  • Writing and email marketing 

    • Communicating with our audience, mainly through email advertising

    • Copywriting for ads

  • Partnerships 

    • Activate ticket offering and other marketing activities through partners. Can be everything from a new sponsor to the local University.

  • Project management and reporting 

    • Delivering the marketing activation calendar set by the Head of Marketing

    • Project manage campaigns from start to finish, including monthly content promotion budgets and ticketing allocations

    • Work with Head of Marketing to improve reporting of all activity and effectiveness

Key skills and history

  • An event marketer with over min. 2-3 years hands on ticketing and marketing experience

  • At least 2 years direct media buying and planning experience specifically across Facebook, Google and other social platforms. Experience in programmatic or other digital buying a bonus.

  • Live event marketing and setting up ticketing prices and processes is a necessity

  • SEO knowledge is a bonus, but not required

  • Fluent English both verbal and written

  • Experience in working with 3rd party relations and project managing

  • Top communicator and able to brief well

  • Knowledge of or experience working in esports is not essential

  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues across the business, setting aside self-interest to achieve the best outcome.

  • A self-starter, able to drive forward projects with minimal direction to create momentum

  • Seeks advice and input where useful, leave the ego at home
