YOUR ROLE

As CTO, you have a holistic perspective and the ability to inspire and lead others. You love working with technology and have experience working as a backend developer. Our current team is 1 backend and 2 frontend developers, with your help we want to grow the team under 2021.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• You will be working closely with the Product Owner and CRM team, where you will be involved in driving technical strategy, creating roadmaps.

• You will be leading software architecture and facilitating the implementation and adoption of new frameworks, tools, and technologies.

• Setting up DevOps processes and implementing the best practices in line with GDPR.

• Working in the agile environment and spending 40% of your time on hands-on development of our product.

• Working with third-party integrations, workflows, and business logic

• Partake in management, raising, and scaling up the company.

• Recruitment and onboarding of new members to the development team.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE

• +4 years of experience working with software development with a focus on backend, preferably with technologies using Node.js or similar. It will be a merit if you have also worked with TypeScript or you are willing to learn this.

• Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where you get the chance to influence how we work together.

• A passion for the development of both customer-facing and business-facing products.

• A constant curiosity to keep up with industry trends and how to utilize these best in your daily job.

• Excellent communication skills, which means you can share and bounce ideas as well as inspire colleagues.

• Fluent in English because of our multinational team and a good grasp of Swedish since third-party documentation is in Swedish only.

Backend Technologies: NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS (ECS, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, RDS)

I think programming is empowering people to create solutions out of ideas. With just a keyboard and some creativity you can become the modern-day Leonardo da Vinci, except for the part where Leonardo purposefully left mistakes in his blueprints to confuse others, we don't do that at Flyttsmart. I've always liked the feeling of solving a problem by writing code, and Flyttsmart really scratches that itch for me. I've myself felt anxious about moving apartments and when I heard about Flyttsmart and their approach to tackling the most common moving issues I was immediately motivated to apply my own skills to help build the solution. Being the only backend developer hasn't always been easy. Problems can occur when there are complex technical or logical issues, and not having another person (as involved in the backend) to discuss solutions with. Naturally, this has sometimes led to bugs or other issues that aren't visible until later on. (Sorry, my bad…) Fortunately, everyone at Flyttsmart is considerate and understanding. Flyttsmart is a one-of-a-kind service where most of what we do hasn't been done before, so we all know that to improve you need to make mistakes. Especially me.
