Kapacity.io, an early stage VC backed startup, offers a platform to improve energy efficiency in the building and real estate sector. Our cloud-based tool optimises and controls energy systems using various external sources of data such as indoor air conditions, past heating and cooling demand, weather forecasts, wind power production and electricity prices. Our mission is a 100% decarbonised society.

We are looking for an engineer to the role of Head of Engineering/Lead developer. We’re searching for a person with a curious and open mind-set for problem solving, and good skills in designing, building and operating systems involving computation and automation.

Your job would be to build an operational and scalable technology stack together with the CTO Rami to make it possible for the startup to grow and thrive. You would not be left alone with the tech; Rami is a prototyper with expertise in machine learning, AI and building automation systems. We are looking for a problem-solver and a team-player with some essential skills, as set out below.

Essential skills and experience includes some combination of the following:

-  Programming (Python or C or C++)

-  Working with Linux environments

-  Setting up networking and server set-ups

-  Building software/products in Cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure)

Nice-to-haves i.e. things that you will find yourself implementing in your work:

- Databases (SQL, etc.)

- Data science and analytics (Python, R)

- Building or home automation (Modbus, BACnet, Z-Wave etc.)

- Machine learning or Artificial Intelligence (Tensorflow, Kubernetes)
