The Growth function is tasked with the hard job of delivering against ambitious objectives. And it needs to do so without any formal leadership over the other functions it relies on to deliver that growth, i.e. product, engineering, and marketing, etc. That is to say that this job is not for the faint of heart. As the person heading up product and marketing growth initiatives, you'll be part of a team responsible for driving growth across our key metrics spanning acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization. The role as a Growth Manager involves both hands-on work like implementing experiments, mapping out core growth loops, data analysis, and tracking; as well as higher-level strategic planning, product development, project management, evangelizing, and more. This is a highly entrepreneurial position that will require you to assume a number of different roles.
As a person, you’re a systems thinker and can think holistically about decision-making, tackling problems from various angles paired with an ability to ask the right questions in order to get the necessary information. You enjoy working in an environment with a lot of freedom and are self-sufficient but equally adept at collaborating and influencing others without formal authority.
Potential daily activities and tactical responsibilities:
Lead growth initiatives end-to-end from conception to defining objectives, execution, tracking, and reporting
Continuously develop experiments including but not limited to A/B-testing to test and optimize growth-driving channels such as product features and marketing efforts
Work closely with our BI/data infrastructure team as a stakeholder to set requirements and improve our BI/data infrastructure
Monitor, analyze, and report on KPIs to ensure product and marketing initiatives are contributing to company goals
Use web analytics and business intelligence tools such as Google Analytics and internal dashboards to better understand our customers and exploit those insights
Assist in managing and monitor overall site CRO, SEO, and acquisition across all channels
On a more strategic or higher level:
Model and continuously improve our growth framework for the platform product. Uncover key growth levers for the platform's growth loops.
Evangelize a growth and data-driven mindset within the company in order to embed the right growth culture throughout the whole organization.
Define specific growth metrics and KPIs together with our Head of Growth the rest of the leadership team and track our progress against them. Own the "north star metric" for the company.
Partner with product and engineering during product discovery: prioritize and de-risk new projects and initiatives.
Partner with the data, product, and marketing teams to do both qualitative and quantitative user research.
Partner with product and engineering to make sure each and every new feature or improvement is measurable and will contribute to the growth goals.
During the first months on the job, you will be tasked with mapping out our core growth engine in detail, improving and defining our data tracking capabilities, iterating on the growth strategy together with the rest of the leadership team, and evangelizing for growth and a data-driven mindset across the whole organization.
Although there are a few key activities you will spend the majority of your time on, the role is quite broad and will be defined and developed further together with you, evolving along with the needs of the company.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
You have 5+ years of growth-focused experience in product management, marketing and/or a comprehensive set of skills and experiences that can attest to your expertise
Real-world experience with modeling and building growth frameworks
Project management experience
You have experience in data analytics and BI
Experience building and using experimentation frameworks for rapid iteration and product discovery
Experience managing organic acquisition and retention, including SEO and CRO
Experience working with/in cross-functional teams
You have technical skills such as programming
You have previously worked in a tech company
Holistic business knowledge
Proven leadership skills, the ability to lead without formal authority
