UX/UI Design lead

Salary Competitive

Hey there! We are a venture-backed startup called VALIFIED trying to solve one of the biggest and most urgent problems of our time. Going green. Among our shareholders are PKA Pension and Ørsted as well as incubators KRING and dozens of cool, intelligent co-workers with high levels of integrity and empathy. We’ve launched our platform and have a huge catalogue of new products and features ahead of us making you an essential part of the team at a very exciting stage.

The opportunity

We’re in need of a talented and experienced interface designer. It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants a lot of responsibility and their designs in the hands of thousands of ambitious companies who want to go green.

As a team, we believe in a collective and collaborative working style with fast prototyping, user testing, and a profound interest for our customers and their needs.

The role

As our new UX/UI design lead, you’ll be a part of a passionate green-team 🍀☘️🌿 located in Østerbro. Collaborating with a fast-growing development team, you will help us build great user experiences. We’re looking for a dedicated UX/UI designer with strong focus on usability and a proven track record in building progressive web interfaces.

You should be comfortable with taking the lead on design and UX challenges and know your tools inside out. Listening to users and their feedback will be essential, but so will letting your experience guide you in applying best practices to design problems. We work together as a team so it is vital that you can clearly articulate your ideas to other team members and that you enjoy evolving initial ideas through collaboration and constructive feedback. In fact, we expect you to actively seek out and build upon feedback from team members as well as users. We are building and transforming our platform as we run, so you will help us adapt and change the UI/UX incrementally and not as Big Bang solutions. Your work will be founded on the principle of always focusing on the problem or the opportunity and then building a killer feature to solve it.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience with progressive web design - from concept to production - and a portfolio to back it up

  • Have a pragmatic and evolutionary approach to design and UX changes.

  • Have experience with defining and articulating core product-defining UI/UX principles

  • Want to help the team stay focused on these first principles

  • Like to stretch your wings across user research, user experience and product design

  • Have experience with user research

  • Feel confident when addressing users through interviews and user tests.

  • Are a team player and recognize that the best solutions come from collaboration and shared ideas

  • Employ a systematic approach and can juggle multiple projects at once

  • Focus on goals and not tasks, and contribute to planning

  • Start design challenges with a clear problem statement

It would be awesome if you:

  • Have experience from working in a start-up or from building a product from the ground up.

  • Know your way around GitHub

  • Have a good technical understanding of HTML and CSS

  • Proactively aid and push the team to ensure delivery on time.

  • Anticipate and seek feedback to address it proactively.

What we believe in

Tech and product. We believe in technology as a strong enabler to accelerate green growth. We focus our work on the end-user and optimize for bottom-up adoption. Companies’ use of our products is what leads our growth and changes the world for a better place. We sell through our platform as software and support services.

Lean and data-driven: We try to get a deep understanding of the problems we’re solving. But we also acknowledge that we can’t predict the outcome of our work. So we believe in an experiment-based approach to product development with short build-measure-learn cycles. We leave building death stars to the storm troopers.

We offer

A lot of responsibility and influence - you’ll be a key player in developing and shaping the future of Valified’s products and services. You’ll get to work with and learn from a team of highly experienced entrepreneurs and tech people.

We work in a relaxed environment in KRING, a community co-working space for entrepreneurs and tech startups. You get to network with other startups and scaleups and plenty of cool, like-minded people. And finally, we offer a great lunch. You need to be located in Denmark.

How to apply

Interested? Get in touch and tell us why you’re the one for us. Share your work and your thoughts. If you have a portfolio, include it in your application, otherwise please include any other showcase of your work. Please mail Niels Ranum with the subject “UX/UI Design lead”.

We’ll accept applications until November 15th. We review all applications continuously and will get back to you quickly. After the interviews, the final candidates will be given a little challenge. The exercise is representative of the kind of work we do, and it helps us understand how you’d approach new problems from scratch. We look forward to hearing from you!
