We are breaking new ground in the life science and pharmaceutical industries with our Python-powered, proprietary artificial intelligence, and are looking for a bioinformatician to join our Copenhagen team.
Bioinformatics researcher
We are looking for a skilled Bioinformatics Researcher or bio-related Data Scientist with excellent Python skills and deep experience in the drug discovery process to join our Copenhagen team.
You’ll be an integral part of building a bridge between our core technology and the life science and pharmaceutical industries. You’ll use your experience in bioinformatics to help design peptides, proteins, and antibodies on projects spanning the entire development process. Collaborating with clients to solve problems with our technology, you’ll bring back ideas of new bio-based features that can be implemented into Abzu’s product.
Your experience with machine learning technologies and techniques will enable you to see and show the unique value of our proprietary algorithms. You’ll be shaping future research and product development areas, so software development skills would really set you apart from your peers.
Our philosophy and culture are based on self-management: a structure that empowers people to fully be themselves and make decisions about all matters – small and large – under a shared sense of purpose.
Working in a self-managing company
We are a self-managing company, and we believe in empowering individuals to design their own work. This means that you’ll define where your talent is best used and govern how that will be expressed in your daily activities (with advice from other Abzoids).
We believe that the best working environment is where people have integrity, a strong sense of responsibility, and collaborate in creative and inspiring ways. We trust in people, their potential, and inestimable value.
About you
You bring 5+ years of experience working in Bioinformatics, or as a Researcher
or Data Scientist within drug development or clinical trials
You can show you have driven sequence-based design methods in a drug discovery
context, preferably for biologics such as peptides and antibodies
Experience in the areas of small molecule or oligonucleotide design is a plus
You are curious, and love to help others solve problems
You have tried our proprietary QLattice and want to help develop new bio-related
features
You have experience with data science in Python (Sklearn, statsmodels, pandas,
NumPy) and statistical analysis
We'd love it if...
You love learning and are a good teacher
You have a passion for AI, machine learning, and research
We know it is a one-of-a-kind candidate (maybe even a unicorn) that we're looking for. Even if you don’t meet all of the criteria but are excited about the opportunity and our work at Abzu, go ahead and apply. :)
We are here to learn, grow, and bring Abzu one step closer to realizing the promise of explainable artificial intelligence.
About us
Abzu is an applied research company on the mission to make explainable artificial intelligence accessible to researchers and scientists worldwide.
Abzu was born from a desire to challenge the fundamental assumptions of contemporary AI, believing that the future of AI lies in the more lifelike simulation of self-organizing systems.
Our explainable graph-based technology is used in the life science and pharmaceutical industries to find answers to problems by leveraging our QLattice’s “evolutionary" ability to sample the space of potentially thousands of models and seamlessly pick the simplest and most accurate models that explain relationships between data.
Founded in January 2018, Abzu has offices in Copenhagen, Denmark and Barcelona, Spain.
If it’s AI, it’s Abzu.
