We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Operations team in Helsinki to become a member of our Data team. The Data team’s primary goal is to help drive the business by supporting stakeholders to make data-informed decisions and strategic trade-offs. In this role, you will provide an analytical perspective on the MaaS Global business’s various aspects. To succeed, you should be a self-driven, creative individual who has good business and technical skills and a customer-centric mindset. You should also be passionate about increasing the company’s level of insight capability and playing a role in helping the company achieve the longer-term goal of becoming a truly data-driven organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Data Team in delivering insights to key stakeholders in MaaS Global in a much more proactive manner = anticipating needs, understanding the business.

  • Support the Head of Data Team to transform or drive a planned evolution from data sporadic to data-driven with end to end, one-source-of-truth accountability and reliability.

  • Help to automate internal and external reporting.

  • Create reports on critical insights for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactively follow key performance metrics.

  • Support day-to-day operations by responding to different ad-hoc requests from various teams across the organisation.

  • Work closely together with the Virtual Teams and provide them with insights and ideas for further development and innovations.

  • Support various teams in their decision-making by providing a data-based, analytical perspective.

Requirements

  • The ability to understand the linkage between performance and strategy and the need for data and insights to influence and inform both.

  • The ability to anticipate stakeholder data needs by understanding the underlying business.

  • Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot data issues, i.e., issues, which impede the ability to deliver insights to stakeholders.

  • The ability to quickly translate stakeholder “data needs”/requirements into actionable data deliverables.

  • End to end knowledge and capability from data visualisation to data sources and all in-between: helping drive a data-driven company evolution that supports company strategy, OKRs, and KPIs.

  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL querying and Tableau (or some other business intelligence tool) = a Tableau “magician.”

  • A Master’s Degree in business, mathematics, computer science, or another relevant field, or other relevant experience.

  • Solid understanding of statistics/mathematical modelling; knowledge of Python and/or R.

  • Good understanding of the MaaS concept and business and the ability to evaluate data and metrics from that perspective.

  • Ability to clearly communicate results to different stakeholders; excellent written/spoken English.

  • Ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects at the same time.

  • A practical, business-centric approach to the job.

Key experiences:

  • Insights and experience building a data warehouse/business intelligence solution are a significant plus.

  • Work experience on projects focusing on customer insights.

  • Driving company change in terms of turning a company into a truly data-driven entity.
