BetaDwarf is currently looking for an experienced VFX artist to join us on a new game project, a Top-down PvE moba/mmo.
We need a VFX Artist that loves creating colourful, impactful and stylized real-time effects for games. Supporting the game mechanics with clarity while delivering on the fantasy.
We are looking for a full time position, and someone who is fired up about the idea of joining our project early on, helping us envision and create our own Vfx style.
Our new game is aiming for a stylized and rich experience and we need the VFX to match, think League of legends, Heroes of the Storm or World of Warcraft, and you won't be far off the style we are going for.
Your job will be to develop a wide array of VFX, such as in game abilities, UI and Environment effects, and being able to implement them across multiple platforms from pc to mobile. We need someone capable of creating a cool concept or idea and taking it all the way to implementation.
Our ideal candidate needs to have a strong understanding of timing, color, texture and shape language and be super passionate about learning and developing his/her own talents.
We want to push for the highest quality VFX and we need someone who is super passionate about helping us achieve that vision.

Responsibilities
As the primary VFX Artist you will work closely with the Art Director and the rest of the art team to best present the gameplay via real-time ingame visual effects, with the ambition of strengthening the games’ identity and visual universe.
Help further define and consolidate the look and expression of VFX.
Help shape the Vfx pipeline and fundamental systems we use to bring the epicness to the player.
Make sure our vfx is performant and optimized for a broad range of target platforms.
Requirements
A kickass portfolio showcasing great stylized VFX.
3+ years working in the games industry as a VFX artist.
Professional Unity 3D VFX experience.
Good technical knowledge that can help you be independent when implementing and tweaking effects.
Experience working in a collaborative team environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience with optimizing vfx for low performance targets.
Agile mindset that can handle task priorities shifting because of live demands.
Thrive on critical feedback and input from multiple perspectives.
A passion for playing and making games.
Pluses
Experience with mobile VFX.
Experience making VFX for top-down games.
Great C# skills.
