Business development internship

Salary Unpaid

Are you a proactive worker constantly looking for new challenges, willing to make a change in each place you put your foot into? Are you dynamic, independent, and proactive? Then listen up! GRIM is hiring a Business Developer Intern. GRIM is a marketplace for organic surplus and ugly-by-nature fresh fruits and vegetables. We've been growing fast since our launch in July 2018 and are now looking for a Business Developer Intern to help us grow and expand in new areas.

Our Copenhagen-based company sources produce directly from farms and delivers subscription boxes straight to people’s doors or to a nearby pick up place. We also supply GRIM produce to food businesses. In short, we make it easy for people to live more sustainably.

As a business developer intern, your main goal will be to help GRIM to create a strong framework for expanding quickly in new markets. You will work closely with the CEO and will have the opportunity to work with the whole team according to your projects.

We are a small team with different nationalities and abilities, but we have our passion for food and the mission GRIM is on in common: that is to create a new standard for what’s edible.

As with any start-up, there are always different tasks every day, and we expect you to like that kind of environment and thrive under it!

The responsibilities include:

GRIM expansion plan

  • Researching and analysing the competitors

  • Giving GRIM insights and advice on what strategy to follow

  • Contributing to the internationalisation strategy of GRIM to Sweden

Structure and solidify the fast growth of GRIM

  • Tracking, reporting and analysing the past and ongoing expansion activities

  • Building frameworks based on the analysis

Community building

  • Creating programmes, initiatives and activities that help the GRIM community grow. GRIM already has a strong community, the next step for us is to engage even more the community by giving them opportunities to do so.

Admin

  • Helping the CEO with financial bookkeeping tasks

  • Helping the Head of Operations with administrative tasks with B2B customers

Other ad hoc tasks

The job is for you if...

  • You are proactive and thrive in independent work

  • You easily find your role in a collaborative team environment

  • You take ownership of your areas of responsibility and bring in creative ideas

  • You can present your work results on an ongoing basis in a clear, action-and goal-oriented manner

  • You have studied or are studying business, economics or sociology

  • You are a data-driven person who understands the numbers and Excel and can make decision based on what strategies work and don't

  • You share our passion for food and/or sustainability

  • You write and speak English and Danish fluently, understanding Swedish is a plus

Team GRIM is located in a new food hub in Copenhagen Nordvest, which is shared with other food start ups. We value personality over a strong CV. Please note that this is an unpaid internship position and it is a requirement that you are available for a minimum period of 2 months.

Start in August. Apply with your CV and remember to attach your motivational letter via The Hub.

Working at
Eat Grim

Eat Grim is a platform for ugly and surplus fruits and vegetables. We are fighting one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues: about 1/3 of fruits and vegetables produced are lost for aesthetic reasons or because they are overproduced - while we are worried that we can’t feed the growing populations of the world. So in 2018, we created Eat Grim. We source the ugly and surplus produce directly from farms and bring it to the market in two ways: through a food box subscription to private consumers, making it easy for consumers to eat more sustainably. We also supply Grim produce to food businesses that want to make their sourcing more sustainable and transparent.
