Pacq is a WeWork Lab startup aiming to build a vertical social network which caters to people who love dogs. It's a one-stop place for a life with a dog. We are looking for a CTO to join our team to drive the development of Pacq. If you like pets that’s amazing but it’s not a requirement as long as you love tech.

The perfect person has a sense of humour, obviously enjoys the occasional dog pun, can code like the wind, is sly as a fox, understands agile and lean methodologies.

You need to be comfortable with and understand which corners to cut to get 80% of the work done in 20% of the time and are not afraid of getting their hands dirty since we work with a lot of junior people at the moment.

This is a start-up hence a significant part of the compensation will be equity base. We have a strict no-snowflake, work hard and play harder policy.

 It will be hard, challenging and rewarding.

Main Responsibilities:

• Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company.

• Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.

• Making executive decisions on behalf of the company's technological requirements.

• Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivering of IT projects to market.

• Ensuring that technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.

• Managing technology budgets and time frames.

• Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.

• Staying on top of technology trends and developments.

• Outline the goals for research and development.

• Acting as a mentor to the dev team members.

• Initially development for the MVP/V1 together with junior devs.

Requirements: 

• Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role

• Knowledge of technological trends to build the strategy

• Understanding of budgets and business-planning

• Ability to conduct technological analyses and research

• Excellent communication skills

• Leadership and organizational abilities

• Strategic thinking

• Problem-solving aptitude

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus

• The working language is English

• The current tech stack is React Native with a firebase backend.
