StepUp Air is building wearables based on breathing, a vital parameter that has been much forgotten but contains so much information. For sportspeople, we can significantly improve training efficiency while minimizing the risk of injury. For healthcare, we help patients live a better life. For horse owners, we deliver insights on horse health and behavior. We're a team of 18 international people covering a wide range of competencies.

Experienced or passionate about sports or medical technologies?  

We are looking for a part-time or full-time intern to join our team, remote or on-site!  

You will have many responsibilities and be part of the data processing team, working directly with the processing and validating of the data we gather, which consist of the heart rate, the breathing data and other measurements, and correlate it with body metabolism. The ideal candidate has experience in sports science or biomedical engineering. It will enable you to apply and increase your knowledge very quickly and discover the startup life.  

Your tasks: 

• Conduct tests and studies to validate the wearable's data and its use in training 

• Write and publish papers on those studies 

• Suggest how to make the most of our data and contribute to planning next features (for e.g. is it worth it to use machine learning to calculate an estimate of the training load?) 

• Network with researchers all over the world to take part of the most relevant studies with our product 

• Create partnerships and applications to funding 

Knowledge in those fields is a plus: 

• Physiology 

• Vital parameter monitoring 

• Sports training and competitions 

• Data manipulation 

• Python
