Machine Learning Engineer

Salary Competitive

DanaDynamics is developing a system for general purpose autonomous operation and navigation to assist merchant ships, Unmanned Surface Vessels and other special purpose vessels. It is our goal to be among the leading providers of complete autonomous navigation at sea. We are looking for a talented and ambitious Machine Learning Engineer to push DanaDynamics towards that vision.

As a Machine Learning Engineer at DanaDynamics, you will contribute to one of the most ambitious maritime autonomy projects in the world. As part of the Autonomy Team consisting of software engineers, physicists and roboticists, you will create the backbone of a first-class system for autonomous navigation, for use in Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs) and for integration with existing maritime systems. You will use the best Deep Learning models for object detection and classification in a maritime environment. You will help scale our infrastructure systems in order to handle the large amounts of data received from our own drones, as well as from our partners. Combining your ML skills and your general programming capabilities, you will create the best possible conditions to improve our autonomous navigation algorithms.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Specification, development and maintenance of cloud infrastructure necessary to process large amounts of data.

  • Tackling the problem of filtering out irrelevant data before labeling.

  • Creation of Deep Learning models for object-detection and classification.

  • Work on simulation and navigational algorithms that are based on the results from the object detection.

  • Writing well-documented, well-tested and clean code.

We require:

  • That you are comfortable with mathematics such as linear algebra, vector calculus, probability and statistics.

  • Knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.

  • Familiarity with basic computer vision concepts (ex. intrinsic and extrinsic calibrations, homogeneous coordinates, projection matrices, and epipolar geometry).

  • Familiarity with programming and software engineering best-practices.

  • Familiarity with a relevant language (Python, Go, C++, Java, etc.).

  • That you possess the ability to self-start and improve yourself.

Make sure you include a resumé when you apply. If you have relevant experience you can include a link (GitHub, personal web page, etc.) to what you’ve been working on.

We expect the interview process to begin mid August.
