Bugging Denmark is Denmarks first urban cricket farm, located in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. Crickets are very sustainable. They emit almost no CO2, and demand little feed and water. We are on a mission to produce the sustainable protein of the future and spread knowledge of just how delicious, nutritious and sustainable insects are. We are currently (supported by the Ministry of Environment and Food) setting up production. They will be fed spent grain from breweries and unsold bred from bakeries.

We are searching for a Farm Manager to handle daily operations. Your tasks can roughly be divided into a few main areas:

·      Optimizing production and performing experiments in relation to the various research projects we have going (one EU project with 34 partners and one with University of Copenhagen)

·      Taking care of the daily operations of the production, such as feeding the crickets, making sure they lay eggs and harvesting them. 

·      Lastly, we normally do a bunch of public events where we push peoples limits and present the intersection of food and sustainability.

You have at least some of these qualifications either from previous work or academic studies. 

·      Experience with setting up and executing scientific experiments

·      Experience with food production and/or animal rearing

·      Knowledge of the food sector

·      Knowledge of insects and their physiology and development

Furthermore, we expect you to be self-motivated and eager to make a difference within sustainability, curious to learn new things and not easily deterred if processes don’t work the first time around.
