We are helping students and researchers around the world with their important work, by finding relevant research to what they are working on. We do this by analyzing the users' documents with self-developed advanced machine learning algorithms and then we display a list of highly relevant research articles right next to their document.


This requires having machine learning models of high quality that can properly analyze the users' documents because we know it doesn't matter how nice our application looks if the search results aren't useful. We are focusing 100% on being of the forefront of this type of search and to achieve that we are looking for a machine learning engineer whose responsibility will be to take what we have developed so far and expand and innovate on it.

We’re looking for someone with a strong background or interest in building successful products or systems; you’re comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; you have exquisite attention to detail; and you’re comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

You will have responsibility and ownership of the search engine itself. You will work on creating and developing new machine learning models as well as implement new functionality to our system, such as recommendations based on a user's liked articles.


You will work on:

● Designing and developing neural networks for use cases such as topic modeling, and word embeddings

● Designing, training, and deploying improved models that will run in production

● Creating automatic pipelines for taking unstructured corpora to deployed models in production

● Creating and expanding upon a microservice architecture that should handle millions of requests per day

● A small team which means you will work closely with all parts of the product, from user feedback to product design


We’re looking for:

● A strong engineer comfortable working independently on challenging problems

● Expertise in Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval

● Expertise in developing and deploying cutting edge AI models

● Experience developing and maintaining distributed systems built with open source tools

● Experience with Python and PyTorch/TensorFlow


Nice to haves:

● Because of the nature of the product, an academic degree is a large plus

● Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestrations

● Experience working with large academic datasets

● Someone who is based in Europe or east coast NA

● Experience with, or high motivation for, leading teams It’s not expected that you’ll have deep expertise in every dimension above, but you should be interested in learning any of the areas that are less familiar.
