ResQ Club is a Finnish service for surplus food on a mission to reduce food waste to zero at restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores – globally. Through us, customers in four countries and five languages are purchasing thousands of portions of food that would otherwise go to waste – every day.

Your future job

Your responsibilities:

• Backend and frontend development of ResQ

• Building and maintaining internal tools

• Designing and planning future features

• Saving the world one portion at a time, and having fun while doing it

Our hopes for your background & skills:

• You can be a senior developer with a solid background, a hungry-to-learn junior or something in between those

• Extra credit for familiarity with shell scripting and iOS/Android development

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Finnish and Swedish a plus)

About us

Our culture rests on taking care of people, being self-organised and efficient. We will onboard you thoroughly and help you when needed, but we do appreciate people who can make independent decisions and develop their own work.

The whole company operates in 8-week cycles:

• 2 weeks for planning and deciding cycle projects

• 6 weeks for doing those projects, with bi-weekly demos to showcase what's been done

• Everyone in the company has the power and therefore responsibility to suggest projects

We have a nice, newly renovated office in the centre of Helsinki's hottest startup hub, Maria 01. With us, everyone's entitled to paid holiday right from the get-go – and we want to make sure that you actually use your holiday. We also have the usual stuff: laptop, phone, lunch benefit, free coffee at the office and the rest. We have flexible working hours, and sometimes we work remotely, but mainly the work will take place at the office between 8–18 Finnish time.
