Freelancebit.com is a freelance marketplace without fees. On it, freelancers can upload gigs to sell a service and or offer it free-of-charge, and clients can seek out freelancers for any type of task either by searching for a gig and or by uploading a project. The company started in the 31st of July 2017.

Freelancebit is looking for a CTO (teknisk leder) who can manage the technical side of the business as the company develops, to come at a partner level. We are looking for a person that is motivated by bringing ambitious goals to life, that handles challenges, and is eager to grow. The person will be in charge of taking our product to the next level by defining new technical solutions, and building a highly scalable community platform together with a passionate team, extern developing team, and the occasional freelance contributor.

The team

The team consists of a CEO and nineteen (19) volunteers working across thirteen (13) positions.

Where we are now

We have developed a MVP, freelancebit.com, that launched two months ago. On the site, we have 200+ translators translating into 42 languages. 

We also have a translation project management service, with 9 projects in the service. We have 2.5 years of translation project management experience with a total of 52 clients and 64 projects managed during that time.

The tech setup

The website is coded in HTML and SQL.

What will you work on when you start?

In your starting days, you will gain familiarity with the company and website. After that you will revise and expand upon the website development plan, as well as develop a plan on how to improve the UX and UI of the site. Lastly, your UX and UI plan will be executed followed by the website plan and other tasks such as fine-tuning the current code.

Tasks

• Execute. You need to plan projects and meet deadlines;

• Manage external developers and contributors;

• Set the direction and make executive decisions;

• Help gather customer feedback/test results and iterate base upon these

Skills we are looking for:

• Speaks Danish;

• Up-to-date coding skills;

• HTML, SQL, and Java coding skills.

The ideal candidate

• Takes pride in writing tight code and solid solutions;

• Is confident in English;

• Has a good feel for UI and UX;

• Has SEO knowledge;

• Is positive, professional, ambitious and self-driven;

• Is a solution-orientated executor;

• Previous entrepreneurial experience is a plus;

• Lives in Denmark, and even better North Jutland.
