(Full stack) developer - Small startup, big opportunity.

Make It Good Again Copenhagen Full-timePart-time
Salary Unpaid
Equity To be negotiated
Curios, self-sufficient and Best practice developer for an ambitious, visionary and high-potential startup

Make It Good Again is a newer start-up, that wants to break with the throw-away society one repair at a time. We are looking for someone to help us reach our full potential!

Our mission is to cut down on waste by helping customers repair their broken items. We do this through our web application hosted at makeitgoodagain.dk. The application allows customers to put their broken items on display for the technicians registered on the site, who will bid on the repair in a reverse auction. The customer can then choose a bid and have their item repaired through the winning technician.

The application consists of a Ruby on Rails back end, with an HTML (Slim-rails), SCSS and JavaScript (jQuery and CoffeeScript) front end. A PostgreSQL database is used for storing application data. The application also contains an extensive test suite. The codebase is stored in a private GitHub repository.

We use Heroku for deployment and monitoring. A CI/CD staging/production pipeline is utilized for testing and deploying new features.

You will join a team of two super passionate co-founders, Jacob and Sara. Jacob is responsible for Sales and Marketing. Sara is responsible for the non-technical product-development, design, and administration. Which will make you the teams leading technical expert.

We prefer quality over quantity and we hate micromanagement! If we ask you to join our team, it’s because we trust that you’ll do a great job without having somebody to look over your shoulder.

Luckily our previous developers have been very diligent, which means that you will take over a well-structured and well-documented codebase. Furthermore, the last person working on the code is willing to help you get started. That means that instead of using a lot of time cleaning up and finding your way around the old code, you can get started with the fun stuff and developing new features right away.

Mindset & skills

We believe that with a motivated and ambitious mindset comes talent. Therefore, your mindset matter more to us than a ton of experience... Of course, you are allowed to have both ;)

We are seeking you if you are:

  • Interested in shaping a new innovative service platform

  • Eager to (self-)learn

  • Self-Sufficient

  • A best-practice supporter

  • Preferably experienced in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and CSS/SCSS

We cannot offer you a salary for now. Instead, we offer some percentage of the company. Therefore you must look at this as an investment. How many hours you work, will depend on the agreement we come to. It can be everything from 10 - 40 hours. Together We’ll figure out a fair percentage.

Working at
Make It Good Again

Make It Good Again aims to break with the throw-away mentality, by making it easier and cheaper to get your broken items repaired. This is done through our website https://makeitgoodagain.dk/, with 3 easy steps: 1. The customer describes what is broken and put it up for the repairmen to give their bid on how much they can repair it for. 2. The repairmen participate in a reversed auction, to give the lowest bid on the repair. 3. The customer chooses their preferred offer. It doesn't have to be the cheapest. It can also be the most convenient, with the highest ratings or whatever other parameter is most important for the customer. We are passionate about our company and work hard to reach our potential.
