Welcome to VEM – Version Equipment Manager
Established in 2018, we are a startup company that develops and distributes our own version control software for baseline and configuration management in the pharmaceutical industry. We are experiencing rapid growth which makes us big enough for you to have every opportunity to develop your skills, yet small enough to ensure a short step from thought to action.
“You’ll be surrounded by people who are driven by their great ideas and the energy to put a unique spin on our state-of-the-art solutions,” says Jakob Steen, founder of VEM ApS.
Implement world-class software solutions
As an implementation consultant, you will set up, configure and implement software solutions for our customers as well as provide continuous customer support.
Through your work you will have a key role in decision making, helping to drive our standard and future technologies. You will get the opportunity to automate and develop systems for the installation of VEM system and get your hands on all parts of our software and installations, e.g. Microsoft, Active Directory, VMware, Veeam, NAS, Cloud (e.g. Azure/Aws), general infrastructure and network (in other words, you will be trying out a lot).
As the pharmaceutical industry is highly regulated, our solutions are often complex and demand technical insight and respect for our customers’ needs and wishes for the process. After an introduction and learning by doing – we hire for attitude and train for skills – you will solve many tasks independently as well as collaborate with our development team, test and validation specialists and our customers.
More specifically, you will:
Be part of the entire process at our customers from buying hardware, installing virtualization, networks and infrastructure, installing OS and databases as well as setting up and configuring software
Be instrumental in developing new ideas and concepts for our product together with our development team – and provide us with essential insight into the wishes and requirements of our customers
Assure the quality of our solutions via tests and validation – this includes developing new tools which you either script yourself (e.g. powershell) and sometimes build test automation
Update software and deploy new releases to our customers
Document processes and create guidelines and instructions for both internal and external use, including creating how-to videos and wiki know for our customers
Cover certain 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support functions, including providing hands-on problem and incident management
Meet your team
You will join a team of 8-10 IT/automation and test specialists who are looking forward to showing you the ropes. We are a mixed group who cover the many aspects of software development while ensuring that everyone can contribute with their different ideas and expertise.
“We are committed to lifelong learning and innovative ideas, and we are dedicated to ensuring that you get to influence what direction you want to go in,” says Jakob Steen, founder of VEM ApS.
Travel to our customers
You will be based at our offices in Brønshøj together with our development but will spend most of your time at our customers’ locations. Most of these are in the greater Copenhagen area, but you should expect approximately 4 weeks of travel every year to work with customers across Denmark and worldwide.
Ambitious software talent
At VEM, we know talent when we see it. Therefore, your experience or specific degree is not essential to us – it’s more important that you are a quick learner, creative and see solutions where others see challenges. Moreover, you:
Are quick to understand IT systems, integration and relations
Thrive in a versatile work environment and enjoy solving tasks independently
Are attentive and work well with colleagues as well as customers
Have a relevant education within IT e.g. AP Graduate in Computer Science, IT Technology, B.Sc Eng., M.Sc. Eng., IT engineering or automation engineering or a technical background such as Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering or similar
Have strong communication skills and are fluent in English in both speech and writing – Danish is an advantage.
