At Blue Lobster, we are changing the way you buy seafood. We empower small-scale, sustainable fishermen to sell their fish directly to consumers. With the Blue Lobster platform, we are bringing the freshest fish to consumers within hours of it being caught, and are able to keep prices at a competitive level, while still paying fishermen 2-4 times what they usually earn. We are currently operational in Denmark but plan to expand operations internationally - and our first stop is Bergen, Norway!

Become our Market Research Intern, focusing specifically on the Norwegian market.

Your responsibilities

• Research the direct-to-consumer fish market in Norway, with a specific focus on Bergen, our very first international city!

• Understand and contextualize the Norwegian market for us. What solutions currently exist in the direct-to-consumer market (both B2B and B2C solutions)?

• Outline possible collaborators for us

  • Logistics solutions

  • Strategic partners (current suppliers of sustainably caught fish)

• What does the restaurant scene look like? Speak to a few restaurants and understand their needs in terms of fish supply. Is sustainability a priority? Is freshness a priority?

• Provide an in-depth analysis of the legislation surrounding catching, buying and selling fish.

• How are the fishermen organized? How do they organize at a given harbor? Is there a centralized auction? Who buys the fish now?

What are the requirements?

• A desire to work in a dynamic, start-up environment
